This three-prong course
is most effective when it is customized to fit the particular performance evaluation system in place
at your organization. I’ll ask for copies of your performance review plan, your forms and appropriate
grading scales, and any disciplinary policies that relate to your organization’s business to tailor this
instruction. Coaching is a necessary step to master when a supervisor notices that an employee’s
behavior is on the wrong track, and progressive discipline is examined. If your organization provides
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, we discuss a manager’s role in referring an employee
to seek help. All employees bring personal issues with them to work -- every day.
